The official stuff

Jim holds a B.S. in Business Management from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management and MBA in Marketing from IU’s Kelley School of Business. Prior to joining dgs in 2003, he worked in provider and network relations in the health insurance industry.

Current Assignment

After spending seven years as the senior member of dgs’ public relations team, Jim now manages integrated marketing programs for selected clients. His responsibilities include strategic planning and recommendations, managing the creative process, monitoring budgets and timelines, writing and ensuring that his assigned clients grow along with the agency. Jim also contributes to public relations and digital communications strategy for all dgs clients.

On his current assignment

Becoming more involved with ‘big picture’ planning and execution has been an exciting transition. We have great clients and it comes naturally to want to support their growth and success. Having the opportunity to take a broader role in tackling the challenges they face has been very rewarding.

On what it’s like to work at dgs

dgs offers a truly unique opportunity. As a smaller agency, we enjoy a casual work environment and a familiarity that facilitates everyone being comfortable with sharing their ideas and opinions. At the same time, our clients are industry leaders and we get to work on projects that have a global impact. It’s a great mix.

On life outside of work

I’m a lifelong geek and shamelessly love movies, music, video games and books. My wife and I enjoy trying locally-owned restaurants, going to movies and concerts, watching marathon sessions of TV shows on DVD, camping, cabining, fishing and taking field trips and vacations to places where we can see and experience things beyond the scope of day-to-day life in Indianapolis.
